Ring gaskets are a flat sealing element, consisting of an inner and outer diameter sized to fit a flange's bore and bolt circle. Ring gaskets sit inside the flange's bolt circle. ASME B16.21 and ASME B16.47 govern the dimensions of ring gaskets for standard and large diameter pipe flanges. Teadit Tealon TF 1580 is a restructured PTFE material filled with barium sulfate and is suitable for strong caustic fluids. It meets FDA conformance for service within food and pharmaceutical applications. 1580 can be used in a wide range of applications due to its vast resistance to most chemical products. It is compatible with strong acids along with strong caustics, making it the most diverse material within the Tealon family. With the off-white color of 1580, this material is also suitable for processes where contamination is not tolerated.

ASME B16.21 Covers types, sizes, materials, dimensions, tolerances, and markings for nonmetallic flat gaskets.
ASME B16.47 Covers pressure-temperature ratings, materials, dimensions, tolerances, marking, and testing for pipe flanges in sizes NPS 26 through NPS 60. Included are flanges with rating class designations 75, 150, 300, 400, 600, and 900 with requirements given in both SI (Metric) and U. S. Customary units, with diameter of bolts and flange bolt hole expressed in inch units.
