Southwest Louisiana Industries, Inc. was founded in Sulphur, Louisiana, with a primary focus on supplying industrial fasteners to the region’s plants and contractors.

The Habetz family acquired the company’s assets and began operating as New Southwest Louisiana Industries, Inc. With approximately $350,000 in annual revenue, the foundation was set for long-term strategic growth.

The company opened a second branch in Lake Charles, Louisiana under the name Southwest Bolt & Screw. This location focused on serving machine shops, expanding the company’s reach beyond plants and construction customers.

Under Habetz family leadership, the company grew nearly 500% by 2010. In October, Jake and Scott Habetz purchased the company from their parents, continuing the family legacy while positioning the business for its next phase of growth.

Product offerings broadened beyond fasteners to include gaskets, cutting tools, and pipe supports, strengthening our ability to serve as a comprehensive industrial supply partner.

Acquired Triangle Bolt in Orange, Texas — a respected industry competitor with complementary product lines. During this time, Blake Habetz joined as an owner, creating the current equal one-third ownership structure between Scott, Jake, and Blake Habetz.

With three entities under common ownership, the companies were unified under one name: STS Industrial, Inc. “STS” represents the legacy of its three foundational companies: Southwest Louisiana Industries, Triangle Bolt, and Southwest Bolt & Screw.

STS built an additional 9,350 sq. ft. warehouse in Sulphur and opened a branch in La Porte, TX, strategically located to serve pipe, valves, and fittings customers. STS instituted a daily material transport system that allowed materials to flow between the three branches allowing STS to service their customer based faster, with less risk and increased reliability.

STS launched its e-commerce platform, which now generates over $120,000 in monthly sales. The company continues to expand its online product offerings and digital capabilities to better serve customers nationwide.

To meet growing demand for technical valve expertise, STS established a dedicated Valve Division, further strengthening its specialized industrial support capabilities. After outgrowing its 6,000-square-foot La Porte facility, STS relocated to a 12,700-square-foot facility in Pasadena, Texas, featuring expanded warehouse capacity and outdoor storage space for pipe inventory.

STS Industrial was acquired by NEFCO, expanding our national reach and purchasing power while maintaining the same trusted local leadership. The partnership positions STS for accelerated growth while preserving the service culture our customers rely on. In 2025, STS also began construction on a newly renovated 27,000+ square-foot facility in Orange, Texas, scheduled to open in Q1 2026 — a significant investment in infrastructure, capacity, and long-term growth across the Gulf Coast.
