Ogee Washer Basics

Ogee washers are typically used in heavy timber construction, such as docks and wooden bridge construction. These washers have an outside diameter that is 4 times the diameter of the bolt size, which provides a large bearing surface to prevent bolt heads and nuts from sinking into the wood. The thickness and shape of the Ogee washer also prevents the washer from deforming when used on wood.

Manufactured from Class 30 Grey Iron with a hot dip galvanized finish that provides a corrosion resistant zinc coating.
